17° South Booze & Bites

Since its June grand opening, 17° South Booze & Bites has been serving up one great meal after another – and receiving one complimentary review after the next. Even before its much anticipated debut, we were touting our beautiful new bar and bistro as a great place to grab a bite, relax with a drink and watch a game in a peaceful tropical environment. It turns out we were prophetic. Numerous people (a strong half dozen so far) have shown their love for 17° South the best way we can think of – online, for the entire world to see! We’re trying not to let it go to our head, but how can we not? Here are just some of the adjectives reviewers are using to describe their experience at 17° South Booze & Bites:

  • Fantastic!

  • Great!

  • Excellent!

  • Amazing!

  • Delicious!

And those are just the appetizers, tasty morsels thinly sliced from a banquet of main courses. We know you’re hungry for more, which is why we’re serving up entrees of four- and five-star reviews to assist you with those difficult menu choices when you try 17° South Booze & Bites on your next visit to Tahiti Village.

We begin with a flattering five-star review posted June 13 by an enthusiastic Las Vegas local, “Todd S” from Summerlin.

“Fantastic food, great atmosphere and excellent service! There is an amazing outdoor patio overlooking lush tropical landscaping and the resort’s signature tropical pool. Loved the sliding glass doors that brought the outside in. Perfect place to grab a good bite and transport yourself to the tropics. It’s like being on vacation. The bartenders are fantastic with 24 beers on tap and the food was great. Love the island ribs and the best hamburgers in the city!”

Thank you, Todd! You know all the right things to say.

On July 12, “Wendy F” from Berkeley, Calif., wrote a review so thick and juicy we’re not sure even Adam Richman (the jolly one from Man V. Food, not the current Man Light version) could eat it:

“My husband and I dined at 17 South Booze & Bites last week during our stay at the Tahiti Village in Las Vegas. The restaurant has a nice outdoor area with TVs although it was way too hot to sit outside and eat. We sat next to the TVs inside away from the traffic of people. When we arrived to the restaurant we were greeted right away and told we could sit wherever we would like. Within minutes we were greeted by our waiter, and were given a menu. Minutes after, he arrived to take our order. The Passion Fruit Margarita I got was very good, the Pina Colada my husband got he loved. I order the lettuce cups, no shrimp or chicken (I’m Vegan) they were very very good! I was actually full which was nice. My husband got a burger with fries, I do not remember the name of it but it was rare the way he likes and he absolutely loved it. Overall the experience here was great. The staff was friendly, the prices are on point, the food was delicious, and atmosphere nice, and pretty touristy. I will be returning here in the near future on our upcoming stays.”

Wow, that was Thanksgiving filling! Maybe you need to loosen your pants button? We’ll let you sit and digest awhile before we serve the next big review. In the meantime, here’s a little something to pick on prepared by a man of few words, “Dan B” from Studio City, Calif.

“Friendly staff, great bar selection & awesome food. Prices are more then reasonable. Locals, discover this gem!”

You gotta love a guy who says so little yet says so much. If Dan’s review were a food item, it would be a convenience store hotdog. Not a lot to it but boy does it hit the spot.

Our last main course comes in portions, small-plates style, from “Amber E” of San Diego. It’s a delicious sampler platter that is also the perfect lead-up to dessert. (And we thank her for her photos.)

“Cool little open air tropical restaurant/bar, located just off the lobby of Tahiti Village, overlooking the pool area. Just opened 2 weeks ago, and had better selection, and was more reasonably priced than I expected.

They have lettuce cups, crab cakes, specialty pizzas, fish and chips, Mac and cheese w/ roasted ham (looked cheesy and tasty), salads, quesadillas, etc. All priced $8-13.

We tried the fish & chips, lettuce cups (I got shrimp, but think chicken might be better), garlic fries (so tasty) and chicken tenders, and they were all quite good. Check it out!”

Have you saved room? Trust us – you need to read this even if you’re still full from the previous reviews. “Anthony B” from Las Vegas delivers a dish that is somehow light and fluffy like tiramisu yet completely decadent like a hot fudge brownie sundae. In other words, yummy!

“Food tasted excellent especially the seasoned French fries. My children had the hamburgers and my wife and I eat the steak sandwich. My wife’s steak was cooked medium and it came out medium. I ordered med-rare and got it well-done. I told the server and he replaced it quickly with a positive attitude. The replaced steak was delicious. I am still happy with restaurant because the problem was taken care of without the server being rude or disrespectful. I would eat there again and recommend it to others.”

We thank all the reviewers for taking the time to share their experience at 17° South Booze & Bites and hope you’ll be tempted to eat their words on your next visit.
