Last summer’s crowd-pleasing but occasional luaus are back by popular demand, and the even better news is we’re having them every Saturday night poolside at Tahiti Village. Now you can count on an “Evening in Paradise” from 6 to 9 p.m. once a week through Labor Day.

This season’s luaus have been drawing progressively larger crowds over the first four weeks. It’s easy to see why, as the following video demonstrates.

The entertainment is a blend of happy songs from Hot Lava and special guests, hula dances (with audience participation) from the Hot Lava girls and thrilling performance art from a fire dancer and a balance board daredevil.

Tahiti Joe’s, in addition to sponsoring the luau, provides a sumptuous island-style feast of kalua pork, Polynesian chicken, island jasmine rice and Tahitian salad, plus a zingy fruit medley and squares of coconut cake.

All in all, it has been a great start to summer here at Tahiti Village in what promises to be a fun and eventful season. Lu-Wow indeed!

We actually had a blast. The music and food were great!

We’ll be coming to Tahiti Village in August. I can’t wait to see a Luau!

  • Nancy LaBelle

Why do you end on Labor Day?

  • Tahiti Village

That’s a good question, Nancy. We decided on Labor Day as the current end date for the luau based on previous years’ demand and the resumption of school. We have been known to holdover the luau in the past, and will attempt to extend the dates into fall if attendance remains strong. Please check back for periodic updates through the new blog. Thank you for writing and have a great day!

We look forward to seeing you in August, Keya. Don’t forget your grass skirt!

Marshall, Marshall, Marshall. We’re happy you had a good time. We’ll pass along your comments to Hot Lava and Tahiti Joe’s.

I will be going out with my family in a week. What is the cost and how much time in advance do you need to book it?

  • Judith Schwagle

Were were just there in May, but didn’t see anything about a luau – when did they start?

  • josephine

why don’t you have anything in like for fall October just because some people can’t get away until later in the year why should they miss out on all the fun.

  • Tahiti Village

We’re sorry you missed the luau. The first one was May 28, three weeks after your stay. The good news is, we’re having them every Saturday through Labor Day. Perhaps you can sneak away for another visit, Judith. The luaus are definitely worth the trip.

  • Tahiti Village

Thanks for asking about advance reservations, Tammy. You raise a good question, because each succeeding luau in the first month was better attended than the one before. One of these weeks we might just sell out. To purchase advance tickets and guarantee your admittance please call (702) 440-6945. Prices are currently $24 plus tax for adults. VIP reserved seating is $35 plus tax for adults. Children under 10 are $14 and kids under 3 get in free. You can pick up your tickets at the front desk when you check in. We look forward to seeing you!

Thanks for writing, Josephine. We are always looking for new activities for our owners to enjoy. Please feel free to submit any suggestions to [email protected].

The Luaus sound great. What is included when you purchase a ticket? What could we expect in the menu? Are drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) included? Would it be possible to have the Tahiti Village activities published on the website with more details?

  • Tahiti Village

Thanks for writing, Bobby. You’ll enjoy a buffet of kalua pork, Polynesian chicken, island jasmine rice, Tahitian salad, a fruit medley and squares of coconut cake, plus free island punch and lemonade, all courtesy of Tahiti Joe’s. We offer a cash bar for those who like their refreshments with a kick. We’re glad you asked about posting a list of activities. Our newly launched website will have an abundance of content, including a section on our social activities. Stay tuned!

We will be there in August, I might just purchase my tickets in advance. See you soon.

Many, many thanks to Tahiti Village for their caring response to my concerns. I appreciated. Tahiti Village does an excellent job with the Luau…the food is delicious and plentiful and guests are welcome to return for seconds; the entertainment (music and dancers) is outstanding; and one cannot beat the location! There were even fire dancers. Wow! We will definitely attend the Luau’s in the future. Aloha! P.S. Despite the venue…the wedding ceremony was really lovely!

  • Tahiti Village

Thanks, Janet! We’re always happy to address your concerns and glad you enjoyed the luau. We look forward to seeing you again.

  • Tahiti Village

Hello, Anita. The luau is drawing large crowds of partygoers. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance – just in case.

  • Allen/Judy

Coming to Tahiti Village for our second trip. Loved it the first time. Looking forward to week stay from Aug 6 – 13, 2011. Need tickets to Luau for Aug 6. Glad you are doing this. Great way to end a 6 hour flight from NC. Please let us know how to get advance VIP tickets and exactly what is a VIP ticket. What extra is there beyaond a normal admission ticket?

  • Tahiti Village

We’re glad you enjoyed your previous visit and hope your forthcoming stay will be just as much fun. You’re right, attending our luau is a great way to unwind after a long flight. To purchase advance tickets please call (702) 440-6945. VIP tickets are based on availability and grant you reserved seating near the stage. That is the only difference between a VIP and general admission ticket. If you are considering VIP tickets we recommend you buy them soon. There are only 150 reserved seats and they go quickly. VIP tickets are $35 plus tax. General admission tickets are $24 plus tax. Children under 10 are $14 and kids under 3 get in free. Thank you for writing, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
