New crosswalk next to garage helps pedestrians navigate Warm Springs Road to outlet mall more safely.

The walk from Tahiti Village to the outlet mall just got a bit safer with the installation of a new crosswalk across Warm Springs Road next to the parking garage. Previously, pedestrians trying to cross the high traffic road by the garage had to resort to jaywalking and risked getting run over.

Now they can activate a flashing yellow warning light system on either side of the crosswalk and cross Warm Springs in relative safety. We say relative because, in Las Vegas, no pedestrian can negotiate a major road with complete peace of mind.

Las Vegas roads are dangerous places but especially for walkers, with nearly 20 pedestrian fatalities reported this year alone. Nevertheless, this at least reduces the risk in getting to the outlet mall from Tahiti Village if you don’t want to take the slightly longer route up Las Vegas Boulevard and cross Warm Springs at the light.
