Tahiti Village Pool is One of the Best of Las Vegas!

Tahiti Village’s swimming pool in Las Vegas has recently won the Best of Las Vegas award, and it’s no surprise why. The resort’s swimming pool is a true oasis in the middle of the desert, with its tropical landscaping and numerous water features making it one of the most popular spots for visitors and locals alike.

The swimming pool at Tahiti Village spans over 3 acres, and features a variety of different water elements, including a lazy river, a sand beach-entry pool, hot tubs, and waterfalls. Find out why 10 Best thinks there’s something for everyone at this incredible pool, from kids to adults, and even those who just want to relax and soak up the sun.

One of the most unique features of the Tahiti Village pool is its sandy beach entry, which makes it easy for guests to gradually enter the water without feeling like they’re jumping into a cold pool. It’s no question why we were featured on USA Today’s 10 Best Hotel in Las Vegas for families with kids.

The lazy river is another highlight of the Tahiti Village pool, with its gentle current taking guests on a relaxing journey around the perimeter of the pool. Guests can float along the river on inner tubes, taking in the beautiful scenery and soaking up the sun.

For those who want to relax and unwind, there are plenty of loungers and cabanas available around the pool area, and The Points Guy agrees. The cabanas offer privacy and shade, as well as comfortable seating and amenities like a TV and mini-fridge. The Tahiti Village pool is truly a world-class swimming facility, and it’s no wonder it’s won the Best of Las Vegas award. It’s a great place to escape the heat of the desert and enjoy some fun in the sun with family and friends. If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas, be sure to check out the Tahiti Village swimming pool. With its tropical atmosphere, variety of water features, and endless opportunities for fun and relaxation, it’s sure to be a highlight of your trip.

Lake Mead National Recreational Area:

This is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts! With the options of swimming, boating, hiking, cycling, and fishing at America’s first and largest national recreation area, there is something for everyone! With beautiful views of the mountains and canyons, there is always something to look at that you haven’t seen before.

Meet Ava Gomez From Mahana Spa ☀️

Meet Ava Gomez From Mahana Spa!

Mahana Spa has been such a beautiful and relaxing part of our tropical resort for years and we are so happy to introduce our new massage therapist, Ava Gomez. Gomez has been in the massage therapy industry for over 10 years and has had the pleasure of working in some really amazing places such as The Ritz-Carlton, The Waldorf Astoria, and many more before joining the Mahana Spa team.

Gomez attended and completed the massage therapy program from Kingston University in 2008, has been a licensed message therapist since 2010 and a licensed esthetician since 2015. Her experience and knowledge is diverse and focused on a more holistic approach to treatment.

Being a massage therapist means that it does not matter how long you are in the industry, there is always something new to learn. With different cultures, specializations and teachings, the knowledge is vastly open to new realizations.

Gomez recalls whenever she was sick as a child, her mother rubbing vapor rub on her back, chest and feet or her grandmother’s scalp massage accompanied with a prayer to feel better. It was these experiences that drove the initial love of massage therapy.

“Massage therapy has allowed me to fill a void of cultural identity. In Mexico and various Latin American villages they often had a healer who treated various conditions. These special individuals were called a “Curandero(a)” many of whom specialized in massage therapy or some type of bodywork who they identified as a “Sobador(a)”. Similarly, the Polynesian culture has a vast history of massage techniques and traditional healing practices that I hope to implement into our spa menu at Mahana Spa,” Gomez said.

Gomez likes to take her guests on a sensory journey during their chosen service and specializes in making memories. Engaging guests in senses from the aroma of the essential oils to the sound of the music, it is meant to make them feel better not only physically but also giving them a chance to connect with themselves mentally and spiritually, which provides for a one of a kind experience.

The question is almost always asked of which massage service is recommended. Gomez would recommend that everyone try the Island Blend. It is a great service for those who can’t decide between a relaxing massage, deep tissue massage, and hot stone treatment. It allows the guest to pick two of the modalities and blend them into one.

Mahana Spa is Gomez’s sanctuary and plans on researching the different healing practices and traditions of the indigenous Polynesians as well as the indigenous Native Americans of Nevada to incorporate into services.

“In some ways it feels like I was always destined to be a healer, I love that I can pull ideas from various schools of thought to treat one individual but also can connect with the how they used to treat people back then,” said Gomez.

Ava Gomez is certainly an amazing individual and addition to our family at the resort. We are so excited to learn more from her, her wisdom, knowledge and connections with guests and owners!

COVID-19

COVID-19: Tahiti Village Update

covidThe COVID-19 pandemic has certainly changed everyone’s lives. That doesn’t stop us from doing everything we can to give our guests and owners the best experience and vacation possible. At Tahiti Village Resort, we care deeply about the well-being and safety of our owners and guests and wanted to provide you with an update on the steps we are taking at the resort to ensure your safety!

Just recently, the Governor stated that in order for Nevada to stay safe and remain open during COVID-19 it is mandated to wear face coverings in all public areas. This Declaration of Emergency Directive was announced on June 26, 2020.

With that, all guests must wear face coverings while indoors, while walking around the property outdoors and while at the pool and lazy river areas. This is for not only your safety but for everyone at the resort. If you have further questions about the new directive, please click here.

Nevada entered Phase Two of reopening on May 29, since then there have been many positive changes in regards to what we can have open on property. After careful consideration of the Phase 2 plan and guidance from the CDC and state directives, we were able to make these further changes–

  • Our pool, lazy river and hot tubs will be open but operating at 50% capacity. Pool admittance will be on a “first come, first served” basis. Wristbands are required to access pool, hot tubs and lazy river.
  • Our gym will officially be opening for use.
  • Wristbands are required to access our pool, lazy river and hot tubs for all registered guests except for children less than 5 years of age. Visit Concierge for these!
  • BBQ area will be open for use.

We are accepting reservations at the resort for guests and owners to come and stay with us. We have taken these additional precautions –

  • The Front Desk and Concierge areas will be fitted with plexiglass acrylic screens. Social distance markers are on the floor for everyone’s reference.
  • Keys, lobby access doors, stairway banisters, elevator buttons, desks, door handles, and all other high contact areas will be disinfected regularly by our staff.
  • In your room, we will be placing “Cleaned and Sanitized” stickers in all high contact areas to let you know we got it.
  • Room assignments will be done so in a way that will allow for better social distancing.
  • Enhanced cleaning of the gym.
  • All employees will be participating in ongoing training to ensure health and safety measures are upheld.

covidWhile you are at the resort we recommend you only ride the elevator with people in your party. Please continue to practice social distancing between each other and in all public areas on our property. Such as our walkways, hallways, lobby areas, etc.

We intend to operate as set forth for as long as possible; however, please realize that these are dynamic and rapidly-evolving circumstances that require day-to-day decision making with COVID-19.

If you need to adjust retail reservations, please contact our Reservation Team at 1-855-386-4658. Adjusting a retail reservation made through an online travel agency (OTA) or another third party, please contact them directly.

For those who are taking advantage in our Complimentary Stay offer and need to change your dates or cancel, please contact us at 1-877-751-8444.

Rest assured that we will contact you in the event that we are required to further change course due to updated health and safety guidance. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as our team navigates what is truly new ground. This is a fluid situation with local, state, and federal jurisdictions issuing guidance and/or restrictions continuously.

covidWe understand that your vacations with us are not what any of us are used to and we apologize for that. The new rules and restrictions that have been placed upon us from State of Nevada’s Directive 024 are one’s we need to follow so we can get back to the Vegas everyone loves! We are doing everything we can to comply with these rules while still maintaining the level of enjoyment that you have grown to expect. With your help, we can navigate through these unchartered territories together and shed those masks! We would like to thank our owners, guests and employees that have been so understanding and cooperative during these times so we can be the Tahiti Village we all want!

Tahiti Village Resort wants to thank you for your continued support and love as we do everything we can to provide you with the best vacation possible!

Chefs4Vegas

Chefs4Vegas: Executive Chef Jason Diaz

Chefs4VegasThis pandemic has been taxing and stressful on everyone, that is no secret. In this time of unknowing, it is nice to shed light on the good happening, as well; especially right here in the Las Vegas community. A beam of light is the creation of Chefs4Vegas.

During the state shut down, there was a surplus of food and products that many chefs and restaurants were sitting on. As a result, many were reaching out to venders and colleagues for advice on where to try and appropriately dispose of the items. Tahiti Village’s Executive Chef, Jason Diaz and other local chefs gathered together on April 18th in a dirt lot off of Tenaya and Warm Springs to find a solution.

After brainstorming, talking, and creating a blue print it was there in that dirt lot that Chefs4Vegas was created. “It even rained on us that day but that didn’t stop us from doing what we felt was right,” said Daiz.

That following week they set up a food bank with the help of other vendors and local chefs, in that day they were able to feed over 300 families in need. “Whenever you can give to your community and provide for them, it is heartwarming,” said Diaz.

This was supposed to be a one-time deal, however the demand grew, the families in need increased and Chefs4Vegas continued helping the community for 10 consecutive weeks. To date, the chefs as a group along with other community partners have provided sustenance to over 10,000 local Las Vegas families.

On June 16th, Chefs4Vegas was awarded a Proclamation from the City of Las Vegas for helping the local community in time of crisis. Chefs4Vegas has now been granted a 501C3, which acknowledges them as a full-fledged nonprofit organization.

“I grew up with not a whole bunch and I relied on food pantries. I know how much that means to a community and I know how much that means to a lot of people. If I could give back and do that, try to do right for them, that’s all this is really about,” said Diaz.

June 24th was another big day for Chefs4Vegas as they traveled to McGill, Nevada to set up a food pantry for that community. “This pandemic really hit hard in that area and there were lots of reports of people not having a lot to survive on. It is very sad times we are in,” said Diaz.

In the midst of all of the sadness, it is heartwarming to know that there are good people in our community that care and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that everyone has what is necessary during these times.

“The thank you’s and the social media posts from some of these people that really, really needed it is amazing. There is no better feeling then to give back to your community,” said Diaz.

Be sure to give Chef Jason a social distanced high-five or say hello the next time you see him. He and many others have done so much for Las Vegas inChefs4Vegas such a short amount of time. We are extremely proud of our Chef and all that he has done and continues to do every day.

We would also like to say thank you to the other chefs and some of the vendors involved in Chefs4Vegas!

  • The President of the American Culinary Federation and the Executive Banquet Chef of Tropicana, Justin Franco
  • The Corporate Executive Chef of Welbilt, Patrick Simon
  • Executive Chef of YourPandas Food Truck, Jonathan Batista and owner, Janelle Batista

Must Take Pictures While Staying in Vegas

Las Vegas is known for being over-the-top, which makes for some prime photo opportunities. Whether you’re into intricate architecture, towering water shows, or sparkling displays, you are sure to capture some of the best photo opts in Vegas during your trip. With so many attractions fighting for your attention, it can be hard to decide where to point your camera next – which is why we put together this list of must-take pictures while staying in Vegas.

The Bellagio Fountains

The famous fountains in front of the Bellagio create a majestic scene begging to be photographed. A photo of this installation will be gorgeous no matter what time of day you shoot, but the most magnificent shots tend to be taken at sunset and in the evenings, when the water displays are illuminated. Although photos can’t do the regal water shows justice, they come pretty close.

The Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.

The Fremont Street Lights

Fremont Street is a photographer’s wonderland. Whether you’re shooting portraits or landscape shots, this street will present you with a plethora of well-lit, unique photo opts. Plenty of street performers, neon signs, and quirky displays are available for your photo-taking pleasures. Perhaps the most notable characteristic of Fremont Street is the giant LED covering that spans the length of five football fields and lights up the area in brilliant, luminous displays. Get your camera ready and snap a few shots of the lights playing off of the buzzing street.

OMNIA Nightclub

It may seem strange to include a nightclub on a list of the best photo opts in Vegas, but the reason quickly becomes apparent upon entrance into OMNIA. The centerpiece of the club is a giant, dancing chandelier that moves to the music, just as the dancers do below. The 30-foot display combines with brilliant light shows to create a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity. The club’s lush interiors and organic shapes make it a feast for the eyes – and the camera.

The High Roller

This attraction offers arguably the best view of the strip from above. Whether you’re scared of heights or crave an adrenaline rush, there’s an opportunity for the perfect Las Vegas Strip pictures. Take a ride on the High Roller at sunset and take a few shots of the glittering city from the top. Or, stay on the ground and make the High Roller itself the focal point (there’s a great point of view from the LINQ promenade). However you choose to utilize the tallest wheel on the planet for your photo-taking purposes, you’re sure to end up with some jaw-dropping images.

High Roller on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan

If you’ve come to Vegas for the glitz and glamour, this one’s for you. The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan glitters with elegance and class. This enormous display of glittering crystals encompasses three unique bar experiences that offer a variety of perspectives. For photo taking purposes, the best views come from the bottom level outside of the chandelier, the third level inside the chandelier, or at the second level of The Cosmopolitan looking over the chandelier. Though these perspectives may offer the best compositions, any view of the chandelier will yield incredible, sparkling images.

The Excalibur Castles

An oldie but a goodie, the Excalibur Castles offer a royal photo op. The intricate castle designs transport you to medieval times while the colorful castle tops and bustling surroundings bring you right back to present day Vegas. Snap a detail shot of the architecture or bring your wide-angle lens for a shot of the entire thing. This quirky Las Vegas classic won’t disappoint when it comes to the best places to take family pictures in Las Vegas.

The Shopping Arcade at the Venetian

This Venice-inspired attraction in the Venetian screams “photo op” from the sky-themed ceiling to the authentic gondolas floating along the indoor canal. There are several bridges along the Arcade that are perfect for portraits while any angle of the canal makes for a gorgeous shot. For a unique perspective, take a ride on a gondola and take photographs while drifting along the canal.

The Las Vegas Sign (of course)

This photo op is more classic than cliche. Featured in almost all Vegas movies and pictured with countless celebrities, this sign is a must when it comes to Vegas photography. Be wary as you will probably not have the sign to yourself – it’s one of the most photographed spots in the city. But, that classic Las Vegas Sign shot will be well worth the wait. Try timing your photo sesh for sunrise or sunset for an added effect.

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

This photogenic city is packed to the brim with camera-ready scenes and insta-worthy locations. With so much to do and see, you won’t be able to put your camera down for long. Make sure to document your experiences so you can look back and remember how dazzled you were by the entertainment capital of the world!
