Indulge in Exceptional Dining Experiences and Support a Good Cause: Las Vegas Restaurant Week

Every year, food enthusiasts and philanthropists gather in Las Vegas for an extraordinary culinary event – Las Vegas Restaurant Week by Three Square. This 12-day annual event, held every spring, offers a unique opportunity to enjoy delectable meals while supporting a noble cause. Not only do you get to indulge in exceptional dining experiences, but each meal’s cost from participating restaurants directly benefits Three Square Food Bank, helping combat food insecurity among Southern Nevadans. So, let’s dive into the details of this remarkable event and discover the amazing dining options available.

Three Square Food Bank is a prominent organization in Las Vegas that works tirelessly to provide food assistance to individuals and families in need. Their commitment to fighting hunger in the community is commendable, and Las Vegas Restaurant Week is one of their initiatives to raise funds and awareness for their cause. By dining at participating restaurants during this event, you contribute to the efforts of Three Square and make a direct impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity.

During Las Vegas Restaurant Week, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a variety of dining options. While the participating restaurants may change from year to year, you can always expect a diverse selection of cuisines, from fine dining establishments to casual eateries. This culinary extravaganza allows you to indulge in the city’s culinary delights at a discounted price, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to Three Square Food Bank.

While enjoying the remarkable dining experiences offered during Las Vegas Restaurant Week, you can also discover the tropical ambiance of Tahiti Village Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, NV. This exquisite resort is a perfect retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation. As you explore the resort, you’ll find two on-property restaurants that add to the overall experience.

One of the restaurants at Tahiti Village Resort & Spa is 17° South Booze & Bites. This unique dining venue captures the serene and adventurous spirit of Tahiti’s tropical island life. The menu at 17° South offers a tantalizing array of food options, with influences from Polynesian and Pacific Rim cuisines. From mouthwatering seafood dishes to flavorful tropical cocktails, every bite and sip will transport you to a paradise-like dining experience. And while you savor the delightful flavors, you can also enjoy the live entertainment that complements the vibrant atmosphere.

Another delightful dining option at Tahiti Village Resort & Spa is Arturo’s Village Pizza. While not a participant in Las Vegas Restaurant Week, Arturo’s Village Pizza emphasizes the significance of supporting local restaurants and giving back to the community. Here, you can savor authentic Brooklyn-style pizza crafted with passion and expertise. What sets Arturo’s Village Pizza apart is their unique double stack concept, allowing you to relish the portability and pliability of two slices of pizza simultaneously. It’s a fun and delicious way to enjoy this beloved comfort food.

Las Vegas Restaurant Week is not just about enjoying exquisite meals and discovering new culinary experiences. It’s an opportunity to contribute to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. By participating in this annual event, you join the fight against food insecurity in Southern Nevada and support the ongoing efforts of Three Square Food Bank.

So mark your calendars and prepare your taste buds for Las Vegas Restaurant Week by Three Square. Experience the culinary wonders of Las Vegas, support local restaurants, and give back to the community. Together, we can make a difference and help combat hunger one meal at a time.

Getting up to Speed with Chad Green

The pace of life during the global pandemic was viscous, like watching black tar oozing the span of an inch in the span of a week. We had a lot of catching up to do rectifying the days of thunder, so naturally we tasked professional Nitro Funny Car owner and driver Chad Green with the challenge. We were lucky enough to partner with this driver originally from Midland Texas, and learned why this speed demon recently upgraded from the Pro Mod car to the dangerously faster Funny Nitro Car. Chad Green Motorsports Meet and Greet at Tahiti Village.

Before Chad Green hit the track, Tahiti Village and Chad Green Motorsports hosted a Meet and Greet for fans and guests alike. Fans and guests came to Tahiti Village and were clearly as excited to meet Chad as we were, as throngs of people and polite hysteria ensued around Chad and his car, where he patiently met all his fans and overdosed on selfies like a true sport. Tahiti Village has a long history supporting the sports world, sponsoring teams like The Golden Knights, Las Vegas Aces, and the Las Vegas Lights. It’s a perk and a privilege we always look forward to sharing with our owners and their guests. We were also able to give away tickets to owners to enjoy the NHRA Camping World 4 Wide Nationals that happened April 1st – 3rd. Nitro Funny Car at Tahiti Village

Father and Son duo, Chad Green in his Nitro Funny Car, and Hunter Green in his Top Alcohol Car both drove at the NHRA Camping World 4 Wide Nationals in Las Vegas. Hunter Green made his first ever debut in the Top Alcohol Dragster Class. Fans and attendees flocked to see their set-up, enjoying the spoils of these events. Both drivers did exceptionally well, qualifying to race against some of the best.

Best Time to Visit Las Vegas

Best Time to Visit Las Vegas

One of the questions that we are asked more than many others on social media is people wanting to know the best time to visit Las Vegas. The tricky part is that the answer comes down to what people are looking to do while they are visiting Las Vegas because for people looking to hang out at a fantastic pool with sandy beach entry like the one at Tahiti Village is entirely different than someone looking for lower rates to come to town and see shows and enjoy some of the fantastic fine dining options in town. In this post, we will try to cover the many different types of visitors and what likely works the best for them. If you feel that we missed something, please let us know in the comments, and we will be sure to come back and add it to this post.

Average Temperatures in Las Vegas

Being a desert city, the temperatures in Las Vegas can swing more than 30 degrees in a day from the lows to the highs. Depending on the time of year, that may mean you need to start the day in a light jacket or a sweater, and by the afternoon, you are comfortably lounging by the pool. This chart will help give you a range of what to expect by month, including precipitation.

Las Vegas Average Temperatures
*Source – US Climate Data

You may be wondering what caused that spike in July. In Las Vegas, we have a summer monsoon season that can cause afternoon thunderstorms to flare up over parts of the valley. While the rain can be an inconvenience for some, many others enjoy watching the lightning from a distance at night since most of the storms get hung on the mountains surrounding the city.

Best Time for Lounging By the Pool in Las Vegas

This is a 2 part question unless you are a fan of the summer heat. The pool season officially kicks off in Las Vegas in mid-March at most properties, though at Tahiti Village, we keep the pool and lazy river heated in the winter so guests can enjoy them all year long.

For visitors looking to spend their entire day & afternoon lounging in the sun, swimming, and enjoying a refreshing drink, we recommend late March through late May and late August through early October. This gives you the best chance to arrive at the pool when it opens and be comfortable all day while you soak up some sun. Just be sure to wear sunscreen to keep from getting burned. Even in cooler temperatures, the UV index in Las Vegas will still cause sunburns.

If you love the heat and the action, then mid-summer months are perfect for you! The pools are busy, the music is on, and the summer pool party vibe is in full swing all across the city. While temperatures will typically be over 100 degrees for a high every day from July through August, the vibes by the pool are also going to be the highest. Just wear some sandals when walking around the pools because the pool deck will be hot.

Best Time for Outdoor Adventures around Las Vegas

Many people looking for desert adventures will stay away from the hot summer months for safety reasons, which is certainly understandable. While short hikes can be safer options, avoiding the summer heat is a good idea if you want something more extreme. For rock climbers looking to climb the longer routes, the season typically starts in November and can run through late March if the weather cooperates.

Top Of MysterZ Red Rock

The winter is typically also the busiest time of the year for the Red Rock Scenic loop drive. In 2020 the park began a reservation system to limit the number of people entering the park at any given hour the gates are open. Because of this, we highly recommend reserving your entry time in advance before you depart for your adventure!

Many national parks are within a 3-4 hour drive of Las Vegas that will give you some of Mother Nature’s most scenic views. Death Valley, Zion National Park, and the Valley of Fire are popular day trip destinations for people looking to see some of the most picturesque views that the Southwestern US offers. If the Grand Canyon is on your bucket list, you can reach the south rim in only 2.5 hours from Las Vegas. If you want to experience the Sky Walk, you’ll want to plan and get your tickets before you leave Las Vegas to make sure your spot is reserved because this is one of the most popular ways for people to see the Grand Canyon.

Best Time to Visit Las Vegas for Nightlife

The nightclubs in Las Vegas will always be when the city is the busiest. For visitors looking for the best nightclub experience, the Summer & Fall seasons will be the best time to visit. There are enough nightclubs on the strip to warrant their post but always plan by reaching out to promoters or looking for online VIP access.

Shows in Las Vegas operate all year long, so you can easily see any of them regardless of the time of year you visit. If you are shopping for a deal, we recommend coming between December and February for the best chances that some shows will offer discounts on show tickets, especially at the TKTS booths located up and down the Las Vegas strip. You’ll also have an easier time getting dinner reservations to those hot restaurants that you have wanted to check out.

It’s Always a Good Time for Las Vegas

No matter what you are looking to get out of your vacation, Las Vegas has you covered. Depending on what you are looking for, some different resorts and locations will suit your needs. Fremont Street may be the perfect spot for you if you are looking for a never-ending party, especially with the newly opened Circa Las Vegas. For the more modern approach, with all of the lavish amenities, the strip is always open and ready to help you have the vacation of a lifetime. If you want to set up a home base in a quieter off-strip hotel but still be close enough to the action to get there quickly and easily, then check out the rates we have for Tahiti Village.

Las Vegas Is Waiting For You

Las Vegas is bouncing back, and shows are starting to re-open. Occupancy rates for hotels and casinos are on the rise. Restaurants are seeing reservations picking up quickly and regularly having wait times during peak dining hours. Other attractions and entertainment options in the city have increased to 80% by the state Government, and the city is aiming for 100% occupancy rates in early June. All of this means that Vegas is back and ready for your next vacation!

Are you Ready to Come Back?
Join the trend of increasing passenger traffic coming through McCarren Airport. According to their latest data, just over 2.9 million passengers arrived at their terminals in the month of March 2021. That’s up from 2.1 million in March. As airlines begin to adjust their rates, you’ll likely save money by booking your flights sooner rather than later. Airport traffic is always a great indicator of the interest in Vegas, and we love to see things returning to normal.

The Intermission is Over!
Shows like Absinthe and Atomic Saloon Show, by Speigelworld, are now open Wednesday – Sundays, offering safe seating pods. Speigelworld is also diligently working to re-open, Opium, so their trio of wildly popular shows will be here to entertain you during your next vacation. Their shows are perfect for people looking for something a little off-kilter and edgy in the evenings.

If you prefer the acrobatics and theatrics of Cirque de Soleil, you’ll be able to see Mystère and O in person again soon. Mystère will re-open at TI on June 28th, and just three days later, on July 1st, O is back in business at Bellagio. Cirque shows have been closed since the initial shutdown in March of 2020.

Other shows like David Copperfield, Blue Man Group, and Jabbawockeez have been open and operating for some time now as well. The entertainers and their fantastic support staff have been eagerly waiting for the chance to bring their craft back to the stage, and the time is finally here. Remember that you can get tickets to these great shows and more from our concierge desk during your stay!

Getting around the strip just got easier because, on May 11th, the Las Vegas Monorail started running again. Now visitors can quickly get between all of the stops on the East side of the strip and get to their next destination as fast as possible. Remember that you can buy day passes to the monorail to save some money and get around quickly all day long!

What’s New at Tahiti Village?
At Tahiti Village, we are working hard to ensure that the rooms, sand entry pool, lazy river, and other amenities are clean and ready for you to make us your home base for your next Las Vegas vacation. We continue to follow the strictest CDC recommendations for cleaning and sanitizing our resort. Our team is working on new onsite activities for guests of all ages to enjoy during their stay, be on the lookout for more details. Also, we have recently been able to open our hot tubs again, which we know many guests will be excited for!

If you haven’t stayed with us recently, you have yet to experience Arturo’s Village Pizza, which recently won the Best of Las Vegas Bronze for Best Pizza in Las Vegas. Be sure to grab a few slices or even a whole pie for the family when you stay with us in the future!

To keep the tropical vibe strong, the Luau is back in business and better than ever. We have spent the last year looking at ways to make the Luau more immersive, and you’re going to LOVE the changes that we have made. The event space has had a cover added to it to help block out the sun during the early part of the show, and for those arriving early, the new experiences are sure to keep you entertained before the main show.

And if you needed more of a reason to visit us, Mermaid Mondays are back and better than ever! CaySea the Mermaid is upping her showing this year. We will also be offering “Swim with the Fin” classes for children to learn to swim with their own fins! For little girls, they learn to swim in mermaid tails, and little boys will get shark fins. This kind of experience is something your children will remember for years to come!

When you stay with us for your vacation, our goal is to make it your best vacation yet to feel like you are part of the Tahiti Village family. We hope to see you soon.

Chefs4Vegas: Executive Chef Jason Diaz

Chefs4VegasThis pandemic has been taxing and stressful on everyone, that is no secret. In this time of unknowing, it is nice to shed light on the good happening, as well; especially right here in the Las Vegas community. A beam of light is the creation of Chefs4Vegas.

During the state shut down, there was a surplus of food and products that many chefs and restaurants were sitting on. As a result, many were reaching out to venders and colleagues for advice on where to try and appropriately dispose of the items. Tahiti Village’s Executive Chef, Jason Diaz and other local chefs gathered together on April 18th in a dirt lot off of Tenaya and Warm Springs to find a solution.

After brainstorming, talking, and creating a blue print it was there in that dirt lot that Chefs4Vegas was created. “It even rained on us that day but that didn’t stop us from doing what we felt was right,” said Daiz.

That following week they set up a food bank with the help of other vendors and local chefs, in that day they were able to feed over 300 families in need. “Whenever you can give to your community and provide for them, it is heartwarming,” said Diaz.

This was supposed to be a one-time deal, however the demand grew, the families in need increased and Chefs4Vegas continued helping the community for 10 consecutive weeks. To date, the chefs as a group along with other community partners have provided sustenance to over 10,000 local Las Vegas families.

On June 16th, Chefs4Vegas was awarded a Proclamation from the City of Las Vegas for helping the local community in time of crisis. Chefs4Vegas has now been granted a 501C3, which acknowledges them as a full-fledged nonprofit organization.

“I grew up with not a whole bunch and I relied on food pantries. I know how much that means to a community and I know how much that means to a lot of people. If I could give back and do that, try to do right for them, that’s all this is really about,” said Diaz.

June 24th was another big day for Chefs4Vegas as they traveled to McGill, Nevada to set up a food pantry for that community. “This pandemic really hit hard in that area and there were lots of reports of people not having a lot to survive on. It is very sad times we are in,” said Diaz.

In the midst of all of the sadness, it is heartwarming to know that there are good people in our community that care and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that everyone has what is necessary during these times.

“The thank you’s and the social media posts from some of these people that really, really needed it is amazing. There is no better feeling then to give back to your community,” said Diaz.

Be sure to give Chef Jason a social distanced high-five or say hello the next time you see him. He and many others have done so much for Las Vegas inChefs4Vegas such a short amount of time. We are extremely proud of our Chef and all that he has done and continues to do every day.
